Devon Ross Lategan
Detectives from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office charged a former West Henderson High School teacher with a felony count of sexual activity with a student after investigating allegations that he had sexual contact with a 17-year-old female student at West Henderson in June of 2016.
Devon Ross Lategan, 29, of Apex, was arrested Wednesday in Wake County and released on a $50,000 bond. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Lategan teaches science at Athens Drive High School in Raleigh, the Raleigh News & Observer reported. The newspaper reported that it had not verified Lategan’s current job status on Friday.
