LIGHTNING PHOTOS: Wind gusts can't chill Bunny Hoppers' gusto

If it felt more like a nor'easter than Easter, the wind could not stay a couple hundred rabbit-eared runners from covering a 4K route at Blue Ridge Community College.

Sponsored by the Hendersonville Kiwanis Club, the first Bunny Hope 4K raised more than $2,000 for Kiwanis programs including Balfour Babies and the Shoes and Socks charity. Wind gusts of 20-30 mph made for a chilly start to the day but good running conditions. The Easter Bunny made an appearance and all finishers got a plastic Easter egg with candy inside.
