NWS issues flash flood warning

The National Weather Service early Tuesday extended a flash flood warning for central and northern Henderson County including Hendersonville, Mills River, Fletcher, Mountain Home, Bat Cave, Gerton, Chimney Rock State Park, Edneyville and Horse Shoe. 

The NWS reported that 911 calls reported multiple roads in the area were closed. Flood waters are still rising over some roads. The weather service advised motorists to use caution and do not try to drive around barricades. Roads may be washed out.

Flash flooding could occur on small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. There's a 70 percent chance of rain through Wednesday, the NWS said.
